Every staff member makes an important contribution toward delivering exceptional legal services, regardless of whether they are qualified legal professionals or our support and administrative staff. Kirsten practised as a lawyer before having a family and starting a cooking school in Christchurch. With the children now mostly grown up she has returned to law.
Kirsten enjoys skiing, travel, gardening and walking a golden retriever named Louis.
Michaela is currently on Parental Leave.
Michaela has spent the better part of the last decade with MML, first joining the team as a Launchpad student in 2009. In 2014 she joined the commercial and property team, until she headed off on her OE at the end of 2016.
Michaela qualified as a Legal Executive in 2017 and became registered in 2020.
Outside of work Michaela loves travelling, good wine, outdoor adventures, keeping fit and cooking for her friends and family.
Bianca started with MML as an Office Junior in 2001, returned to MML in 2009 and is now one of our Legal Executives, working in Residential Conveyancing and Trust Law.
Bianca and her wife Jamie-Lee are proud parents of their son Brooklyn.
Bianca likes to keep fit, travel, socialise and has recently taken up beekeeping. She is also a staunch supporter of the Queensland Maroons, Warriors, Crusaders and All Blacks.
Carol has worked in law firms in Christchurch for the past 30 years. Carol started out as a Legal Assistant and completed her legal executive studies in 2000. Carol served on the committee of Canterbury Westland branch of Legal Executives New Zealand for seven years. During that time, Carol was Branch President for four years and represented the brand on the LENZ National Council. Carol is a Fellow of Legal Executives New Zealand. Carol is passionate about her profession and enjoys helping clients achieve their goals.
Carol’s main area of practice are residential sales, residential purchases and refinancing.
Outside of work, Carol’s main interests are her three daughters, four grandchildren, friends, walking and enjoying the outdoors. Carol loves animals and has a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel called Theodore (Teddy).
Olivia has recently completed her Law Degree at the University of Canterbury and is currently completing the Professional Studies Legal Course. Olivia began working at Mortlock McCormack law in November 2023 and predominantly works alongside the Family team at MML.
Outside of work, Olivia enjoys cooking, camping, hiking, and spending time with her friends, family, and dog
Elaine is currently on Parental Leave.
Elaine joined us with 4 years experience in another Christchurch firm and prior to that 8 years with the Department of Justice in her homeland of South Africa.
Outside of work Elaine enjoys swimming, reading, baking, kayaking and other outdoor adventures.
Maddy joined us in early 2020 as an Office Junior and soon moved into a Legal Secretary role. She now supports a busy team across a range of practice areas and enjoys being part of the day-to-day workings of the firm.
Outside of work, Maddy enjoys spending time with friends, playing competitive netball, skiing, hiking, and baking – much to the delight of the office.
Ruth joined Mortlock McCormack Law as our Office Junior in 2022, she took a few months off to go overseas in 2025 before returning as a Legal Secretary.
In her spare time Ruth enjoys shopping, cooking, and spending time with her friends & Family. Ruth is also a big animal lover and enjoys taking her dogs Jed and Finn for walks.
Liz joined us after 15 years’ experience with other law firms in Christchurch. Liz passed her Legal Executive certificate in 2010 and works with us as a Legal Secretary.
Outside of work Liz enjoys home renovations, redecorating, gardening, reading and socialising with friends and family.
Linda started at Papprills in September 1997 as a Legal Secretary.
In her spare time Linda enjoys hanging out with her family and her dog, catching up with friends, beach walks and pottering in the garden.
Janelle have been working with Papprills Lawyers for just over three years after taking time out of the workforce to raise her family.
Janelle is a Wife and Mum to three very active kids and one little miniature schnauzer. So when she is not running around after them Janelle enjoys a good book, baking, gardening and travelling.
Sam has recently joined the team as a Legal Secretary after working for a few years in Logistics & Administration, and she is eager to develop her knowledge in the legal field.
Outside of work, Sam enjoys playing competitive netball, shopping and walking her dog, Harvey. She loves staying active and spending time with friends and family in her spare time.
Teresa celebrated 20 years with the firm in 2017. The experience and knowledge Teresa holds in accounts receivable/administration, payroll and GST is valued at MML, as is her work ethic.
Teresa is married to Stephen with two adult sons, is an avid rugby and tennis supporter, loves travel and enjoys a good gin.
Robyn joined Mortlock McCormack Law in August 2023 as an opportunity to train and build a new skill set around Trust Account Administration.
Robyn and her husband, run their own business and Robyn enjoys spending time with family and friends, travel, and enjoying the great outdoors here in NZ.
Hanna recently moved back to Christchurch to spend more time with family after spending 8 years in Auckland. Working in Administration is a new area for Hanna, but she is enjoying tackling new challenges.
Outside of work Hanna enjoys reading books, walking in the Port Hills and entertaining her numerous nieces and nephews
Livvy has recently joined the team as Receptionist/Office Junior after finishing high school. Working in the office/reception is new for Livvy but she is enjoying the challenge.
Outside of work, Livvy spends most of her spare time playing competitive indoor cricket whilst also training for upcoming tournaments. She also loves spending time with her friends and family and staying active.
Catherine is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the firm, this includes IT, marketing, office procedures and leadership of the administration functions of the firm.
Outside of work Catherine enjoys cooking and eating out, with a glass of wine. She also enjoys walking some of Canterbury’s day tracks and spending time with her dogs Bella and Alfie.
Sarah Wenborn (nee Carr) started as a “Launchpad” Student with Sue McCormack in 2002. Evolving and working in a number of roles during her time with the firm (Office Junior, Receptionist, Legal Secretary/PA (Family/Litigation), Office Support Manager and Office Manager), together with completing her Diploma in Human Resource Management through CPIT (now Ara Institute of Canterbury); Sarah returned from parental leave as our HR Manager.
Outside of work Sarah loves spending time with her family – especially story, song and dance time with daughters Winnie, Poppy and Maddi, loves dominating in all board games (Catan being one of her favourites), has played indoor and outdoor netball to a high level, assists in the organisation of her beloved club Kereru Netball, and enjoys travel, good food and relaxing in the sunshine.
