MML’s 2024 Highlights Reel

The Mortlock McCormack Law team has had an eventful year, excelling not only in our work but also actively participating in community events, charity fundraisers, and professional development opportunities.

 

  • Sarah White and her team took the line honours win in the Cholmondeley Sailing Regatta in October.
  • Emily Flaszynski has been appointed to the Natural Hazards Cover Dispute Resolution Scheme Panel
  • Dan Chisholm, with his band The Volts, released a self-titled album in October and held a sold out release show in Christchurch. Listen out for the album on the radio!
  • Sarah Hartley, alongside Kim Laurenson and Stu Dawe from My Lend, hosted a seminar at our office for first-time home buyers, providing valuable insights into the legal aspects of the home-buying process.
  • Mortlock McCormack Law was proud to be a part of the Gold Club group of sponsors at the Canterbury Jockey Club during New Zealand Cup Week.
  • Earlier in the year, Angus Mossman released a new album ‘Smokechasers’ and toured across New Zealand with his band, Lunar Intruder.
  • Emily Flaszynski presented for the New Zealand Council of Legal Education at a seminar about the Property (Relationships) Act 1976 Key Issues in August.
  • Our team participated in the Avon Rowing Club Corporate challenge in September where we learnt to row in an eight and took part in a regatta against other companies.
  • Angela Dunbar was appointed as chairperson of the board of the Dementia Canterbury Charitable Trust Board and Director of Canterbury Brain Collective Limited.
  • Hamish Douch presented at the Property Law Conference in June about extinguishing or modifying easements and covenants.
  • In November, Emily Flaszynski presented at the Legalwise Education Law Conference in Christchurch on Legal Actions Against Schools: How to Run a Good Disciplinary Process to Avoid Subsequent Legal Action.
  • Mortlock McCormack Law remain committed to supporting our community, as demonstrated this year through two charity fundraisers for the Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Foundation and the SPCA Cupcake Day.
  • Our team continues to provide our pro bono services to 16 boards across Canterbury.
