Worker Fired for Refusing to get Vaccinated

The Employment Relations Authority has determined that Customs was justified when terminating the employment of a border worker who refused to get the Covid-19 vaccine.

Customs had undertaken an assessment and found that there was enough risk of the worker coming into contact with the virus to require vaccination, even though she would not be interacting with people in quarantine. The Authority agreed with Customs.
