The annual Mortlock McCormack Law Art Awards are held in November and recognise outstanding work created by final year students from the CPIT School of Art and Design.

Mortlock McCormack Law are happy to be able to provide public support and financial incentive to encourage these emerging artists. The firm recognises the difficulties faced by young graduates as they commence their careers and hopes that its contributions assist that transition.

Simon Mortlock Partners were foundation members of Sustainable Business Network, formerly Businesses for Social Responsibility.

The organisation focuses on providing small to medium-sized businesses with information and support to guide them towards becoming more socially responsible.

Staff members organise an annual appeal within the building for food and Christmas gifts for the needy, on behalf of the Christchurch City Mission. Members have also been involved in other community work including an auction in support of Cholmondeley Children’s Home. Such activities by staff members are encouraged by the firm as a way of promoting the social values of the firm.
